ICSA (India) Ltd, provider of embedded technology solutions and
infrastructure deployment services for the power sector, has commissioned
its Smart Energy Meter (SEM) manufacturing unit at Pashmailaram, Patancheru,
Medak in Andhra Pradesh. The plant was inaugurated by Mr. Kapil Mohan, IAS,
Director (APDRP, RE & NEF) Ministry of Power, Government of India. The SEM
unit, set up with an investment of Rs 26 crore has a capacity to manufacture
1.50 lakh meters.
The Smart Energy Meter is a combination of an energy meter and a
communication device which is the next generation in energy metering. ICSA
entered into SEM business in India in 2010 and the new unit will manufacture
the meters to be supplied to the power distribution utilities.
