The City & Industrial Development
Corporation of
Maharashtra Ltd is likely
to prepare the tender for the
proposed

10,000 crore Navi
Mumbai airport project by May
this year.
CIDCO will hold 26 per cent
equity stake in the project, while
the successful private developer
will hold the remaining stake.
The airport will be developed on
PPP basis. JSW Group, Essar
Group, Balaji Infra Projects Ltd
and Essel Group have reportedly
evinced interest in bidding for
the airport project.
Although the project was
cleared by the Ministry of Environment
& Forests in November
last year, CIDCO needs the
approval of the Bombay High
Court to clear the mangroves
from the project site. The
remaining environment-related
clearances for the project are
expected next month. The
terms and conditions for
partnership with Airports
Authority of India are also yet to
be finalised.
Maharashtra Chief Minister
Prithviraj Chavan is according
priority for the implementation of
the Navi Mumbai international
airport project.
