Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors has earmarked Rs 288 crore investment at its Pithampur unit in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. This investment would give the group a complete facility in India to produce and also assemble the new medium duty engine to be used in Volvo's trucks and buses worlwide. The engine capacity would be ramped up from 60,000 units to 1.60-lakh units by the financial year 2016-17.
