Chemical Process Piping Pvt. Ltd has been in the forefront
of design, manufacture and installation of GRP piping for
desalination plants in Middle East, India, Australia and
Southeast Asia. In the last seven years, the company has supplied
GRP piping to desalination plants totalling over 2,000 mld.
The year 2005 saw a spurt in setting up of desalination plants
worldwide. On an average, in the last seven years, desalination
plants of around 4,500 mld capacity have been contracted per
year. In the last over 30 years, the worldwide installed capacity of
desalination plants has reached roughly around 66,000 mld out
of which around 39,000 mld is based on RO technology. The balance
plants are based on either MED, MSF, electro dialysis or
other technologies.
GRP is best suited for handling seawater at even high pressures.
The layup sequence can be optimised based on the load
conditions. The use of different polyester and epoxy resin systems
allows corrosion resistance against a wide range of chemicals.
There are two major manufacturing technologies (helical
and continuous filament winding) to choose from while manufacturing
GRP pipes.
CPP has the capability to design, manufacture and install
GRP piping starting from seawater intake/reject, in-plant
piping and pure water conveyance to cities. Thus, the entire
water loop can be handled by CPP as a turnkey contract.
The company has the capability to manufacture pipes up to
3000 mm dia with higher dia available on request. Its total
capacity is over 21,000 MT GRP per year making it one of
the largest GRP pipe manufacturers in Asia. CPP is registered
vendor to the top 20 desalination technology/plant suppliers in
