PPL plans Rs 500 cr capex

Paradeep Phosphates Ltd mulls an investment of Rs 500 crore to set up new plants and undertake major expansion work over the next three years. The company will invest Rs 250 crore to set up a new 2000 tonne per day capacity Sulphuric Acid plant. PPL would also set up a new gypsum pond at an investment of Rs 100 crore besides debottlenecking and upgrading the existing Phosphoric Acid plant at a cost of Rs 70 crore. All these would be complemented by establishment of a new unit of 20 MW captive power plant by the fertiliser manufacturer.

As part of a diversification plans, the company is also planning to introduce ammonia/urea, besides gearing up to set up a state-of-the-art soil testing laboratory in Bhubaneswar.
