Max Healthcare proposes to add around 600 operational beds at its hospitals by the end of this fiscal, taking the total to over 1,700. The additional beds would be mainly in the hospitals which were opened in the last fiscal and no new investments would be incurred. Over the last three years the company has spent over Rs 250 crore to Rs 350 crore on increasing the bed strength.

Recently, Max Healthcare opened three new multi-speciality hospitals at Bhatinda and Mohali in Punjab, Shalimar Bagh in Delhi. A Rs 120 crore multi-speciality hospital at Dehradun is to be opened soon. The new 206-bed hospital will focus on neuro sciences, cardiology, critical care, accident and trauma care and high end orthopaedics with all supporting facilities.
