Mott MacDonald, the £1-billion
global management, engineering
and development consultancy,
has been appointed by Piramal
Healthcare Ltd to provide engineering,
procurement and construction
management services for
a greenfield formulation facility in
Sikkim. The new manufacturing
facility for pharmaceuticals formulation
is anticipated to be worth
Rs 70 crore ($16.5 million).
M.C. Jagtiani, Project Director,
Mott MacDonald, said, "We
have had a long and successful
association with Piramal
Healthcare in the past, having
executed five major pharma
projects in other parts of
the country."
Work on the formulation facility,
which manufactures oral
solid dosages (tablets, capsules,
liquid orals and ointments), is
due for completion in the beginning
of 2011.
