Nabard sanctions additional funds to UP

NABARD has sanctioned a loan of Rs 808 crore to the Uttar Pradesh government for boosting the irrigation facilities to small and marginal farmers under the current tranche of Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). Of the total sanction, Rs 571.09 crore has been sanctioned to implement the Ram Manohar Lohia 3000 Navin Rajkiya Nalkoop Nirman Pariyojna in 65 districts of the state. The bank has also sanctioned Rs 237.86 crore for Ram Manohar Lohia 8000 Rajkiya Nalkoop Adhunikikaran Pariyojana in 67 districts. Once completed, the projects are expected to directly benefit over 2 lakh hectares of farm land by proving assured irrigation facilities to farmers.
