BHEL plans 2 manufacturing units

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) plans to invest over Rs 500 crore in setting up two power equipment manufacturing plants. The two planst will be set up at Pudukottai in Tamil Nadu and at Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh. The Pudukottai plant will be set up at a cost of Rs 293 crore, while the Jagdishpur plant will cost Rs 230 crore. These new plants are expected to be commissioned by March 2012.

BHEL has manufacturing facilities at Bhopal, Haridwar, Hyderabad and Trichy. BHEL manufactures power equipment that can generate 10,000 MW of electricity.
