Anchor Electricals, a wholly owned subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation, commenced operations at its new manufacturing unit at Daman, in the Union Territory of Daman & Diu. The unit, with an annual production capacity of 240 million units, was set up with an investment of Rs 200 crore and will manufacture a complete range of wiring devices. The plant will initially cater to the domestic market and in fuiture the products would be exported to the Middle East countries. The new unit is environment friendly and has many green features including LED lighting, Solar panels and use of treated sewage water.
