Delhi is planning to set up two waste-to-power plants near the landfill sites in the next two to three years. The proposed plants to come up in Ghazipur and Okhla will help in generating 20-25 mw of power and also reduce the heaps of waste lying at the landfill sites. The Delhi Environment Secretary Dharmendra said the plants will cumulatively process around 3,500 tonnes of solid waste daily.
