Epson, a world leader in
digital imaging and printing,
recently organised its
Annual Logistics Meet 2010 in
Colombo, Sri Lanka, a company
release said. The meet had
"Together we Save, Together we
Win" as the theme. The 7th
consecutive logistics meet was
held to review the current year's
performance and discuss plans
for the coming year, and was
attended by the entire logistics
team including those from Epson
warehouses across India. Also
attending were all the Epson
logistics partners including
forwarding, clearing and
transport vendors.
The discussions centered on
ways to improve in the areas of
cost reduction and optimising
resources. Addressing the
meeting, T. Sukumar, Deputy
Country Manager, Epson India,
appreciated the efforts of the
team in controlling costs and
advised it to focus on process
improvement in the coming year.
Commenting on the meet, J.K.
Suresh, General Manager
Commercial, Logistics and IT,
Epson India, said, "Our logistics
project, Danush, was
implemented successfully for the
last two years to achieve cost
reductions. While we intend to
continue with 'Project Danush'
this year as well, we will also be
forming a new project team
whose objective will be to enforce
process improvement with the
main objective of achieving new
levels of efficiency and savings."
Epson now has 12 strategically
located warehouses.
