Laws are like cobwebs

In a country where the Kalmadis and Yeddys are roaming free even after being charged with swindling hundreds of crores of public money, a Delhi court recently sentenced a 35- year old man to seven years in jail for robbing a man of Rs900. The additional sessions judge also imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on the convict. The court took into account various factors including the manner in which the accused committed the crime by chasing his victim with a weapon in his hand and attacking him to rob him. No wonder criminals nowadays are joining politics as they can loot crores of rupees without using a knife or any other weapon!

It reminds one of Jonathan Swift's famous statement "Laws are like cobwebs, which may catch small flies, but let wasps and hornets break through."
