
The Electrical & Gulf Projects
Operating Company, a part
of L&T's construction division,
has won several orders
aggregating Rs 1,015 crore for
transmission and distribution
projects in the national and international
markets. These are:
The company secured orders
valued at Rs 811 crore ($176 million)
from the Gulf market-two
orders from Transco for the construction
of 3x132kV substations
at Al Wathba, Mohd Bin Zayed
City including Sudha Port
Fujairah in UAE. It also secured
an order from OETC for the construction
of a 132/33kV substation
at Quariyat Area, including installation
of overhead lines, in Muscat,
Oman. Another order from
PAEW, Oman, pertains to carrying
out SCADA works for water transmission
network.
In the domestic market, L&T
bagged three orders valued at Rs
204 crore for the construction of a
220/66kV substation in Bengaluru
for KPTCL; 220kV substations
each at Dhule and Bhableshwar in
Maharashtra for MSETCL; and
conversion of 11kV overhead
lines to underground cabling network
in Margao, Goa.
The Metallurgical, Material
Handling & Water Operating
Company, also a part of L&T's construction
division, won orders
totalling Rs 368 crore from various
customers. These are:
- The water and effluent treatment
business unit secured an
order worth Rs 239 crore from
IOCL at Paradip, Orissa, for
construction of storm water
drains, reservoir, laying of sea
outfall pipeline etc.
- Orders worth Rs 129 crore from
other customers as add-on
works to ongoing projects.
