No inter-party marriages in West Bengal
PM News Bureau
Monday, April 23, 2012, 14:31 Hrs  [IST]

Matchmaking websites like shadi.com or matrimony.com may soon have to include a new parameter in partner seeker's profile - his/her political affiliation - because in West Bengal the Trinamool Congress has issued a new diktat to its party members - not to marry anyone from CPM, its archrival. Fortunately, the party directive doesn't specify the course of action in case marriage between persons belonging to the two parties has already happened. Also, it doesn't apply to those who change parties after marriage!

Soon there may be a directive not to wear red bindis. The situation may go even further - no red lights at traffic signals, only green lights!
