- The 12th Five-Year Plan (2012-2017) size for Kerala is estimated as
 1.05 lakh crore.
- The Planning Commission has cleared 14,010 crore plan outlay for 2012-13.
- GSDP growth rate of 9.5 per cent at constant price is expected during the 12th Plan period.
- Increase in investment in infrastructure sector through PPP.
Construction sector to be given priority.
- Tourism will be the growth engine in the 12th Plan
Restructuring of Kerala State Electricity Board: The time limit for the notification of the transfer scheme
has been extended up to June 30, 2012. Post-restructuring, KSEB will have strategic business units for
transmission, generation and distribution under a single company called KSEB Ltd.
- T&D losses during the last three years have been decreasing.
- Kerala plans to double the installed capacity through new gas-based and supercritical plants. The major
components of capacity addition during the 12th Plan period are 375x3 MW LNG-based plant in Kochi
and 1,000-MW coal-based plant at Baitarni allotted to KSEB.
