Poverty alleviation through phones!
Pm News Bureau
Tuesday, August 14, 2012, 14:40 Hrs  [IST]

Irrespective of the number of people living below the poverty line, India is progressing and progressing fast which is evident from the kind of freebies doled out by the government and the political parties to woo the potential voters. Gone are the days when parties used to offer free sarees and rice to win over the gullible Indian voters; now times have changed and technology has evolved. No wonder, the UPA is planning to give free mobiles to families below the poverty line! In addition, the government is planning to give 200 minutes of free talk time. Otherwise, the government knows mobiles may be used as a torch during night in rural areas where power failure is a common phenomena.
