REpower Systems AG, a Suzlon group company, has inaugurated a new technology
center at Osterrönfeld, in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district, Germany. The
new centre will have around 470 employees, from the fields of Research &
Development, as well as Technical Support and Services.
The Research & Technology center is built by Max Bögl Bauunternehmung GmbH &
Co. KG on an area of 11,700 square meters. In addition to research
activities and development of the REpower wind turbines and products, the
worldwide service and maintenance of onshore and offshore turbines will be
organized from the centre. The global REpower fleet of more than 2,500 wind
turbines is remotely monitored 24 hours a day via the control center of the
Permanent Monitoring System (PMS) department, located on the ground floor of
the technology center.
The company also offers a comprehensive portfolio of service and maintenance
packages for wind farm. The profitable and reliable systems are designed at
the REpower TechCenter in Osterrönfeld and manufactured at its plants in
Husum (North Friesland), Trampe (Brandenburg) and Bremerhaven as well as
Portugal and China.
