Karnataka is facing acute
shortage of IAS and IPS officers.
Of 299 IAS sanctioned
posts, there are only 249
officers, a shortage of 50.
Further, 12 IAS officers will
retire in the coming months.
The police service is short of
68 posts with only 137 officers
while the sanctioned
posts are 205.
This kind of situation can
arise either because posts
which are vacant are not
lucrative or because they
come under strict scrutiny of
Lokayukta. Or they are fed
up of working with Yeddys,
Reddys and Gowdas!
