Vivimed Labs Ltd has commenced commercial production at its new unit at Bidar, Karnataka for manufacturing of sunscreens. The new plant was set up in six months, in technical collaboration with US-based International Specialty Products (ISP). The company has also expanded capacities for other ingredients in Oral care/Hair care segments.

Vivimed has forged a manufacturing alliance for production of UV absorbers. The pact will allow both the companies to jointly market specific products used in sprays and lotions that include UVA and UVB protective properties. The agreement will also mean that ISP will add a number of UVA and UVB absorbers that are already manufactured by Vivimed to its portfolio of sun protection ingredients wherein both the companies benefit from this relationship.
