OMCs to augment LPG storage

The oil marketing companies plan to add about 142.633 thousand tonnes of LPG storage facilities and 6.072 million tpa of additional bottling infrastructure facilities during the 12th Plan period to meet the future demand of LPG. The proposed investment on augmenting LPG infrastructure is about 3,516 crore. In addition, Import Terminal capacity is proposed to be increased by 1.200 million tpa with an expenditure of around 655 crore. At present, the LPG bottling storage capacity in India with the oil marketing companies is 363.4 thousand tonnes, which feeds both urban and rural areas.
