Surya Pharmaceutical Ltd, the flagship company of Surya Corporation with interests in healthcare, education, communications and infrastructure, is setting up an educational campus in Punjab.
"The integrated educational campus will be established on about 28 acres of land and it will initially have five institutions. The company will invest Rs 100 crore in this project in the next three years," Rajansh Thukral, President --Corporate Affairs, Surya Pharmaceutical Ltd, told Projectmonitor.
The campus, to be affiliated to Punjab Technical University, is coming up along the Rajpura-Ambala stretch of NH-1. It will provide education in pharmacy, engineering and architecture and will also run MBA and MCA courses. It will also have all the latest technical facilities. The company is awaiting clearance from the All India Council for Technical Education.
The Rs 750-crore Chandigarh-based company, which produces intermediates APIs, formulations, menthol/mint derivatives and herbal products, is also expanding its pharmaceutical business by establishing three new facilities at an investment of Rs 245 crore- one in Jammu (Rs 200 crore) and two at Banur in Punjab (Rs 45 crore).
