Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd (REIL), a & a joint venture of the
Government of India and Rajasthan government, has bagged an order worth Rs 3
crore from Government of Rajasthan for setting up 11 MW capacity Solar Power
Packs at 249 Panchayat Samitis & 9,169 Panchayats in Rajasthan, under Bharat
Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra Scheme. A solar pack consists of
solar-powered rechargeable batteries, which can be operated as a stand-alone
unit.
Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has sanctioned Central Financial
Assistance of Rs 92 crore to REIL. The 'Mini Ratna' has also entered into an
MOU with Rajasthan government for implementation of this project &
subsequent five year maintenance.
