Shristi Hotel, a part of Shristi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, is setting up a 5-star hotel at Rajarhat in Kolkata. The company has signed a pact with hospitality major Westin Hotels and Resorts for brand management and maintenance of the upcoming hotel, which is expected to start operations by 2011-2012.The unnamed 5-star hotel is coming up on eight acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 800 crore. The project will consist of two 150-metre high towers of 30 & 33 storeys respectively. The total built-up area will be 8,80,000 sqft. The hotel will have 323 rooms, a shopping mall, an entertainment arcade, and a rooftop helipad

The hotel will have a specially-designed fire escape system that will consist of a remote-controlled escape elevator for evacuating 150 people at a time in eight minutes. Shristi Hotel will be the first hotel in the country to have this escape system.

The project has been cleared by Airports Authority of India and other agencies. Cervera and Pioz of Spain, Ruben Anderegg of Switzerland, and CPK Associates of India are the architects. The project will be completely eco-friendly with the highest LEED certification.
