India Power Corporation Ltd, a
holding company of DPSC Ltd, is
likely to commission its power
plant in West Bengal in mid-2013.
The project is being set up through
an SPVāIndia Power Corporation
(Haldia). The 450-MW coal-based
power project is being up in association
with Bhaskar Silicon with an
investment of

2,500 crore at Haldia
in Midnapore district of the
state. The project is coming up on
200 acres of land.
Power Finance Corporation Ltd
has assured financial assistance
to the Andhra Pradesh government
for thermal power projects to
be taken up by APGENCO. PFC
is likely to provide additional funding
of

13,000 crore for expansion
projects at Kothagudem and
Vijayawada power stations, and
for a new plant's expansion at
Krishnapatnam. PFC has already
sanctioned loan of up to

15,525
crore to APGENCO for some of
the ongoing projects.
