Pharmaceutical major Lupin Ltd is setting up a new formulations manufacturing facility at the Special Economic Zone at Mihan in Nagpur. The greenfield project will be operational in 12 months. However, the company did not disclose the project capacity and the financial details of the project. Lupin currently has 11 manufacturing facilities spread across India and Japan.
Lupin Ltd Group President and Executive Director Nilesh Gupta said, “The strategic investment in the new formulation facility at Nagpur is not only in keeping with the consistent growth that Lupin has witnessed across key markets like the US, but it would also ensure that our manufacturing capacities are attuned to future demand.” Moreover, Lupin will utilise the Nagpur unit to export formulations to other countries and also some emerging markets.
