The creation of
SEZ has boosted
activity in
industrial and production
centres.
Similarly, if affordable
housing for residential SEZ can
be created for large-size SEZ projects
above 25 acres, it will substantially
reduce construction costs and help
create satellite townships, thereby
reducing the (housing) burden and
pressure on the cities. Only government
needs to give SEZ concession.
This will create a large number of
houses across the country.
I hope the government continues the
tax benefit under 80-IB. This may help
create about 10 million housing units
in five-seven years time.
