Surya Global Steel Tubes Ltd, a subsidiary of Surya Roshni Group, is
investing Rs 100 crore for setting up new pipe manufacturing plant at
Shimoga in Karnataka. The company has already imported a modern pipe plant
with best technology for installing in the new unit.
The company has steel pipes manufacturing units at Bahadurgarh in Haryana,
Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh and Bhuj in Gujarat with a total annual capacity
of over 3 lakh metric tonnes. The company plans to expand its presence in
South India to meet the demands of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh
markets.
As part of its expansion plans, the company is adding fifth and sixth plants
at its existing factory at Bahadurgarh to augment the G.I. pipes production
capacity and has installed high speed mills of Japanese technology,
including high frequency welding machines & a gas generator set imported
from England.
The Gwalior plant manufactures Steel High Mast & Pole with international
technology. The steel pipe factory in Bhuj produces high quality steel pipes
made out of imported materials. Bahadurgarh plant is one of the largest
factories at a single location in India for G.I. Pipes.
The Surya group also produces pipes for transportation of oil and gas
conforming to the standards of American Petroleum Institute (API). The group
manufactures and supplyies pipes from Bahadurgarh as well as Bhuj plants.
The unit at Bhuj would manufacture steel pipes in the range of 4? inches to
100? inches from grade B to X80 in API quality.
