TN govt sanctions Rs 9-cr subsidy for textile parks

The Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned subsidy worth Rs 9 crore for the textile parks, to be established in the state under the integrated textile park scheme. The scheme envisages setting up of the textile parks aimed at attracting foreign investment and also generating job opportunities. Besides, it will also strengthen the weaving industry by offering modern facilities and advanced technology and boost the economic conditions of the weavers. A state-level review committee will be established under the Textile and Handloom Department to release the funds and check the functioning of the textile park scheme.
