
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development
Corporation Ltd has invited
bids for development of Bhavani Island
as an integrated tourism project in PPP
mode on BOT basis for a period of 33
years. APTDCL also intends to hand over
the existing facilities to the prospective
developer as part of the integrated project.
The developer will maintain the
existing facilities and plan, develop,
finance, build and operate new facilities
during the period.
Bhavani Island, one of the river islands
of River Krishna near Prakasam Barrage,
is a major tourist attraction in
Vijayawada and has an excellent view of Prakasam Barrage, Kanaka Durga Temple
Complex and the surrounding hills. It
is close to Berm Park, a tourist resort
near NH-9 developed by APTDCL. The
island falls within the jurisdiction of
Vijayawada Guntur Tenali Mangalgiri
Urban Development Authority (VGTMUDA)
in Undavalli village, Tadepalli Mandal,
Guntur district.
The project, estimated to cost

60
crore, will include MICE component
(meetings, incentives, conferences and
exhibitions) with conference halls, cottages
and restaurants; leisure and wellness
zone (health spa and resorts along
with yoga and meditation centre, swimming
pools and herbal gardens); entertainment
zone (mini golf course, craft
village, wet and dry rides and play
areas); and common infrastructure
zone (water and sewerage treatment
plants, jetties and onshore parking).

60 lakh. The
