Drinking water project for Kochi planned

Kerala Water Authority (KWA) is planning 190 mld drinking water project for Kochi to meet its growing need. According to the plan water will be drawn from Periyar and a treatment plant will be constructed at Kalamassery. Further, implementation of water project planned under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) will be expedited. Once completed this project will ensure 100 mld water to the city.
