As many as 17 investors, including players from Singapore and Malaysia, have evinced interest in developing the mega convention centre projects in Andhra Pradesh.
The convention centres are proposed to be set up in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati at an estimated cost of Rs.150-200 crore each. The projects will be developed on DBFOT basis in PPP mode.

As per Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (Incap), 30 EOI have been received from 17 developers from India, Singapore and Malaysia for the three mega convention centres. Request for Proposal notification are likely to be issued in May and selection of three developers will be completed by July.

The Visakhapatnam project will be taken up first followed by the others next year.
The salient features of the complexes at Visakhapatnam and Tirupati include convention centres with seating capacities of 8,000 to 10,000 each, an exhibition centre, five-star hotel, shopping mall with multiplexes, leisure facilities or amusement park and food courts.

The Vijayawada centre, particularly, is proposed to be set up over 30 to 50 acres and have a seating capacity of 3,000 to 5,000, an exhibition centre and a three-star hotel.
