Maharashtra Highway
The Maharashtra government made some major allocation to boost infrastructure development in the state. The state government presented its budget on 6 March 2020.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 4 November 2015 laid the foundation stone for three highway projects costing Rs 13,802 crore, at Sonipat in Haryana. These were the Western Peripheral Expressway (136 km) worth Rs 4,115 crore, Eastern Peripheral Expressway (135 km) at Rs 7,558 crore and eightlaning of the highway section from Mukarba Chowk in Delhi to Panipat in Haryana (70 km), worth Rs 2,129 crore.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister said the Centre was working towards removing bottlenecks and simplifying procedures to speed up implementation of infrastructure projects.
