amazon EVAmazon India’s fleet of delivery vehicles in the country will include 10,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by 2025.

Following the successful pilots across different cities in 2019 and learnings which helped Amazon India create scalable and long-term EV variants to build this fleet, the step of adding more EV fleets has been taken forward.

The planned EV fleets are in addition to the global commitment of 1,00,000 electric vehicles in the delivery fleet by 2030, announced in the Climate Pledge signed by Amazon.

The fleets will include three and four wheeler vehicles that have been designed and manufactured in India. These vehicle will be operating in over 20 cities including Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur, and Coimbatore in 2020.

The company will also invest an USD one billion to digitise micro and small businesses in India.
