Construction of highway from the Delhi-Haryana Border to Rohtak Section of NH-10 in Haryana has been delayed considerably. According to the project developer problems relating to land acquisition have been the main reason for the delay. The project which was started in May 2008 should have been competed within 24 months of commencement of the construction work. However, the project work is going on till date and as a result of this delay the cost of the project has gone up substantially. As per the original schedule the project cost was estimated at Rs. 586 crore. But the project developer has already spent Rs. 1048 crore on the project till the end of February. West Haryana Highways Projects Private Limited (WHHPL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) by Era Infra Engineering Ltd. (EIEL – rated CARE D) and Karam Chand Thapar & Bros (Coal Sales) Ltd, is implementing the project on BOT basis.
