JSW Infrastructure Ltd (JSWIL) which is currently implementing a project to expand the capacity at Dolvi to 15 MTPA, expects to complete the project by December 2015. JSWIL is incurring a capex of about Rs. 265.26 crore which will be funded through mix of debt and equity. The capex is being undertaken to service the expansion in JSW Steel’s Dolvi plant capacity from 3.3 MTPA to 5 MTPA. The capex would involve dredging as well as increasing the length of the existing jetties.

Dolvi port is located 22 km down from the mouth of Amba river at Dharamtar, Mumbai, and was setup by the erstwhile Ispat Industries Ltd (now merged with JSW Steel Ltd) to import raw materials for its steel manufacturing plant at Dolvi. Dolvi port serves as a captive port for JSWSL for the import of coal/coke and iron ore.
