Even nature seems to be against the development works undertaken in Arunachal Pradesh. Frequent floods have become a major problem for Navayuga Dibang Infra Projects who has been awarded road development project in the state of Arunachal Pradesh on Built, Operate and Transfer (BOT) Annuity basis. Latest progress report indicate total cumulative financial progress of the project of around 48.53% as against planned progress of 68.04% till March, 2014 and delay in project progress is mainly attributable to the floods in the area. Apart from frequent floods, problem in obtaining right of way is also slowing down the phase of work.

The project is being implemented under the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme in the North Eastern region (SARDP-NE) by MoRTH. The total project cost has been estimated at Rs.836.59 crore, which is proposed to be funded through the promoters’ contribution (Rs.90.59 crore), MoRTH Grant (Rs.516 crore) and term loans (Rs.230 crore). Navayuga Dibang Infra Projects is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) promoted by Navayuga Engineering Company Limited.
