GoAir, Nusli Wadia’s aviation venture, is really becoming serious about women empowerment in their aviation business. The airline wants to recruit only airhostesses henceforth as it has found that their male counterparts are 15-20 per cent heavier.  According to the airline’s analysis, every additional kg on board costs Rs.3 per flight hour. So by recruiting female cabin crew the airline can save up to Rs.2.5-3 crore every year.

No wonder Air India is incurring losses every year – look at their overweight cabin crew, both male and female!

But the moot question is: while every additional kg on board costs just Rs.3 per flight hour, why are you charging the helpless passenger Rs.250 for every additional kilo of luggage?
