JSW Steel is planning to set up second Steel Processing Center at Pune in partnership with Marubeni Itochu Steel Inc. who will be a 50% partner in the venture. JSW and Marubeni have already set up one steel processing unit at Palval in Haryana. The proposed project is estimated to cost Rs. 204 crore. The project will be funded through debt equity ratio of 1:1. The proposed plant will process flat steel products meant for automotive, white goods and construction sectors.
The project will be set up in two phases. In the first phase 1.80 lakh tonne capacity will be set up in FY 2015. The capacity will be scaled up to 3.6 lakh tones in the second phase.
