A 200-mw solar park, jointly developed by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and state utility Kerala State Electricity Board, is proposed to come up at Kasargod in Kerala. The state government’s contribution would in the form of project land. A Central assistance of Rs.40 crore will be spent towards developing basic infrastructure. SECI has already signed two tripartite arrangements in this connection. The first one is with the KSEB and THDC Ltd for a 50-mw project. The second, also for 50 mw, is with KSEB and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA). The ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) has proposed another 100 mw to be set up in the Kasaragod Solar Park under its proposed 2,000 mw viability gap funding (VGF) scheme of the Centre.
