NHPC has proposed a budget estimate of Rs. 3,224.26 crore for the year 2014-15. NHPC has also revised its current year budget estimates to Rs 3058.12 crore. NHPC has utilized Rs. 2,139.75 crore up to the end of the third quarter of financial year 2013-14 against the cumulative target of Rs. 2,471.18 crore
NHPC, a PSU major in hydro power sector, is currently executing 10 projects which when completed will result in 4,502 MW capacity addition. Of this, 8 projects with 1,702 MW proposed capacity are likely to be commissioned in the 12th Plan. NHPC has commissioned 4 projects till date adding up to 632 MW capacity.
