THDC India Ltd is planning to move fast on its two upcoming hydro power projects, namely, Tehri pumped storage power project (Tehri PSP) and Vishnugad Pipalkoti hydro electric power project in the next fiscal. Both the projects are scheduled for commissioning in the first quarter of calendar 2016. Once commissioned, THDC India’s installed generation capacity will go up by 1444 MW.

THDC India has set ambitious milestones for 4X250 MW Tehri PSP as well as 4X111 MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP for the next fiscal. Also THDC India has sought requisite equity support from the Government for these two projects whenever required.

THDC India is implementing Tehri PSP at an estimated cost of Rs 1,843 crore while the estimated cost of Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP is around 2,492 crore. Turnkey execution of Tehri PSP is being done by a consortium involving Alstom Hydro France, Alstom Project India, and Hindustan Construction Company (HCC). EPC contract for Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP was awarded to HCC in December 2013.
