Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TS Genco) has announced the commissioning of the 40 mw Unit-2 of the Lower Jurala Hydro Electric Project on the river Krishna. The project comprising six units of 40-mw each is taking shape at Revulapally village in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana.
Venkata Rajam, Director, TS Genco, in a statement said the unit commenced operations on October 5 and managed to take average load of 40.46 mw and the performance of the unit was as per expectations.
With the commissioning of the second unit the TS Genco is now in a position to supply additional power during peak hours subject to availability of water. This unit is part of the Lower Jurala Hydro Electric Project now under development, aimed at utilising the units during the monsoon season and when there is good water flow into the project.
