Chennai Corporation seems to have taken a leaf out of Kalmadi’s Commonwealth Games exercise when it spent more than Rs.1 lakh in some localities for each of its blue group garbage bins. Maybe, the argument is that if Kalmadi can spend $80 on toilet rolls, why not Rs.1 lakh on garbage bins? We have a lot to learn from our babus who have mastered the art of making money even from garbage!
In a state where you get idlis for Rs.1, you spend Rs.1 lakh on waste bins. So after Amma Canteens and Amma Mineral Water, it is the turn of Amma waste bins!
