Develop in harmony with nature

Madhu Chittora

The production of ready mixed concrete is growing at the rate of 40 per cent per year. The way Indian economy is developing and the infrastructure growth is taking place, this will definitely give rise to more demand for ready mixed concrete and will result in more production.
This will also result in excessive degradation of natural resources. Because the raw materials like sand/aggregates, which are required for manufacturing ready mixed concrete, are obtained by quarrying Mother Nature.
In the past, mines were quarried extensively. Even to obtain sand and aggregates, hills were destroyed. This has led to shocking deterioration of our natural resources. Therefore, development should be in harmony with nature, not at the cost of nature. The bottom line is that sustainable development is important.
