29 small hydel projects for J&K

Jammu and Kashmir will soon take up 29 small hydel power projects in the state. This was decided at a high-level meeting convened by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to review the power sector in the state. The CM has ordered single window clearance for all the power projects.
So far 10 projects with a total capacity of 106 mw have been cleared. These projects are: Ahrabal (22 mw), Branwar (5 mw), Hirpora (9 mw), Tangmarg (12 mw), Atwatoo (12 mw), Boonyar (13 mw),
Kahmil, Kupwara (5 mw), Rangila Dunadi, Doda (12 mw), Drung Kathua (5 mw) and
Mandi, Poonch (12 mw). The state forest, revenue and power development departments have been instructed to ensure availability of land for these projects.
Chief Minister Azad has ordered that all formalities for the remaining 19 power projects be completed within the next two months. Independent power producers have shown interest for these projects having a generation capacity of over 125 mw. The projects are: Hanswar (1.3 mw), Atalgarh (2.50 mw) and Bhalla (1.5 mw) in
Doda; Gulabgarh (3 mw) and Ans Stage-I (22 mw) in Uhamnagar; Boniyar-II (2.6 mw),
Boniyar-III (1.2 mw), Erin (3 mw) and Sranz Ningli (2.3 mw) in Baramulla; Mawar (4.5 mw) in
Kupwara; Kanzil Wangath (12 mw) in Srinagar; Nihama (6.9 mw), Aru (2.5 mw) and Bringi (3.5 mw) in
Anantnag; Sukhang (16 mw) and Shaliganga (10.5 mw) in Budgam; and Girjan-ki-Gali (15 mw) and Phagla (12 mw) in
Poonch
