Indo Tech acquires land for new unit

PM News Bureau

Indo Tech Transformers Ltd has acquired 30.04 acres of land at a cost of around Rs 10 crore on NH-4 beyond Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, to set up its new power transformer facility for manufacture of 220kV and above range of power transformers.
The new location for the power transformer unit is around 37 km from the existing facilities at Thirumazhisai, where the new distribution transformer and new dry type transformer facilities are coming up (both facilities are to be commissioned during the second quarter of 2006-07). The location will ensure that, on completion, four of the five facilities of the company are within 30 minutes of travel time to ensure ease of operations and benefits in terms of savings in costs.
The civil construction for the new power transformer plant, which will have 2400MVA capacity per annum, will commence shortly.
The company, a flagship of the Rs 100 crore Indo Tech Group, was established in 1976 and is a prominent player in power and distribution transformers.
