Godawari Power begins work on phase-II

Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has disclosed that phase-II of its expansion project envisaging an increase in capacity of sponge iron to 495,000 mt, captive power generation to 53 mw and steel billets to 400,000 mt is progressing as per schedule and the same is expected to be completed by March 2007.
Phase-I of the expansion project - increasing the capacity of sponge iron from 105,000 to 235,000 mtpa, captive power generation from 18 to 28 mw, steel billets from 150,000 to 250,000 mtpa, and new capacities for manufacturing of ferro alloys (165,00 mtpa) and steel wires (60,000 mtpa) has been commissioned and began commercial production in January 2006.
