source for approval.
Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan, who also holds the renewable energy
portfolio, said the institute would train youth in repair, operation and

renewable energy in the state. The renewable energy department plans to generate
500 mw of power by 2012 based on various RE sources. During the current year,
the government has earmarked Rs 7.9 crore for a number of renewable energy
scheme schemes. Of this Rs 5.95 crore will be spent under the state budget plan
while Rs 1.95 crore will be incurred under centrally sponsored schemes.
