Consultant for coal terminal



Ennore Port Ltd, a Government of India undertaking, has invited reputed consultancy firms for taking up the work of appointing an independent engineer for its BOT-based coal terminal project [No.EPL/OP/001/2006]. The scope of work involves approval of detailed project report, designs and drawings, issue of completion certificate, vetting of as-built designs and drawings furnished by the licensee etc. The contract period is six months.
At present, Ennore Port Trust, the licensor, has two coal berths serving the power plants of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. EPL is developing an additional multi-user coal terminal for a throughput of 8 mtpa through the BOT route.
The DPR will contain a master plan for the terminal, traffic and tariff projections, conceptual design and layout, detailec cost estimates, year-wise capital expenditure schedule, land requirement and utilisation plan, sources of finance, financing mix etc.
The independent engineer will also ensure that the provisions of the designs and drawings and the approved DPR do not adversely obstruct any development plans of EPL.
The EMD is Rs 25,000. The closing and opening date of tenders is October 19, 2006.
